Grab a cuppa and a biscuit and sit down and enjoy this week’s Friday Favourites!
Wedding of the year - Yesterday Paula Joye over at LifeStyled posted a piece featuring the wedding of Shop Til You Drop editor Justine Cullen to her love Greg. This has to be one of the most beautiful weddings I’ve ever seen and I just couldn’t get enough of the photos. Check out the wedding here.
A donut for your noggin – This week I demonstrated how to use the latest fad tool, the donut, to create the very-in-right-now bun. See my step by step guide here.
Vote for me - This week I got the very exciting news that I’d been nominated for the Pedestrian TV Blogster Awards in the Food Blogs category. I am ecstatic to be nominated and honoured to be rolling with some of the big boppers in food blogging. I would really, really love to win and would appreciate your support. Please click here and ‘like’ Lipstick & Cake. Thanks, and thank you so much to those who’ve voted. xx
New Years Resolutions/ Goals – Back at the start of the year I shared with you my New Years goals and resolutions and I’m proud to say that for the very first time I’ve actually doing them (well some of them anyway). Come July I’m going to revisit my list and give you a little update on what I have/haven’t done yet. Do you make New Years resolutions? What’s one resolution you’ve ticked off your list?
Cinnamon Palmiers - Two months ago I was in Paris gorging on pastries in the most amazing cafe. One of my favourite treats were cinnamon palmiers, these crispy, wafer-life sweet pastry. The other day I decided to recreate the palmier at home. Here is how I did it.
Pinterest - I am still obsessed with Pinterest. Are you on it? Come find me: Lipstick & Cake
Lazy dinner - Like everyone else in Sydney I’ve been battling the dreaded cold/flu. Last night I really wanted to get to bed quickly so I pulled my ol’ fav quickie dinner out of the cupboard, Leggo’s Pasta Bake. Just cook up your pasta, put in a baking tray, add bacon, chorizo or chicken (optional), sprinkle with cheese and pop it in the oven for 20 minutes. Done. I always have a few of these in the cupboard. What’s your lazy dinner?
My 2nd favourite season – I love Autumn, not as much as Winter but close. I love the colours of Autumn, especially the leaves on the trees.
Cafe in Paris - Check out my photos from that delicious Parisian cafe Aux Delices de Manon here. WARNING: They may make you hungry/crave sweets.
Making me thirsty - On the weekend I attempted to make pretzels for the very first time. These pretzels were the accompaniment to my roasted pork knuckle with potato dumplings and gravy. See here for the recipe.
I am Ron Burgandy? – I was very excited to hear that Anchorman 2 has been confirmed. I could watch that film over and over and over again. What’s your favourite quote from the film?
Statement on my neck - Today I’m wearing a black and silver statement necklace from Lovisa. Dressy enough to wear out on a Saturday night but also cute with jeans, t-shirt and blazer.
A/W colours from Darling – Next week I’m going to tell you all about Darling’s A/W nail polish collection. The colours are AMAZING! Stay tuned.
Would kill for one of these - Oh what I would do for a massage right now!
Wishing you all a very Happy Friday and a safe, warm weekend!
Oh and don’t forget to vote for me. Click on image to go through to voting site. Thanks x
