Friday Favourites

Woohoo Friday is finally here!

How’s your week been? Mine’s been a little busy. I am really looking forward to a fairly quiet weekend with plenty of cooking and blogging planned! What are you getting up to?

This week’s Friday Favourites are dedicated to my lovely blogger friends Amy from Absolute Amy and Kim from Kimba Likes Be sure to check out their sites or say hey on Twitter.

Friday Favourites May 18 2012

Posh French sandwich - I became obsessed with the posh French sandwich Croque Monsieur after watching two Meryl Streep films. I’ve recreated the recipe here.  Have any movies inspired you to cook?

Can’t get enough of – Chocolate Cupcakes and this week Mama K popped over to Lipstick & Cake to share her simple Chocolate Cupcake recipe. Check it out here.

Listening to - The Country Strong album and I can’t get enough of it. I really enjoyed the film and the soundtrack is filled with tracks from some of country’s best singers including Tim McGraw, Faith Hill and Sara Evans. Garrett Hedlund (swoooooon) who stars in the film also sings on the album and his voice is unbelievable. What a dreamboat!

Team I love -  I am a huge baseball fan and the New York Yankee’s are my team. Go Yankees!

Dream holiday destination of the week - This week I’ve been day-dreaming about Italy. I’d love to be walking around Cinque Terre, swimming in the beautiful blue sea, eating pasta, pizza and gelato, drinking limoncello and having long, lazy siestas! Where would you like to be right now?

Love Winter -  Winter lovers unite! Mumma In Heels is currently running a weekly ‘Lets Write’ challenge and this week we could write about our love of winter. Mine is on its way but in the meantime check out what Mumma In Heels and some of the other lovely bloggers are sharing here.

Polishing - Darling’s A/W 2012 range is now available. Check out all the beautiful nail polish colours for the cooler seasons here. In this pic I’m wearing Fifty with Harlequin over the top of the thumb. I just can’t get enough of the Darling polishes!

Favourite buy – My favourite buy at the moment is my Country Road Livie Ankle Boots in Cashew. Comfy, cute (on sale) and keeping my feet warm this winter.

Can’t wait to get home to watch- Once Upon A Time is an American fantasy drama series created by the writers of Lost. “With cross dimensions that could only be pulled off by former Lost writers, this enchanting show shifts between Fairy Tale Land and the dreary (plus magically cursed) town of Storybrooke and tackles what happens beyond the “happily ever after” of the stories we love. “- EOnline

Can’t bear -  to take my slippers off! I have a fetish for slippers and desperately need to add to my collection before Winter.

Chocolate and fruit - Darrell Lea’s Choc Orange balls are amazing and a little special treat I spoil myself with every now and then. What’s your favourite type of chocolate?

Look I love – You may have seen a pattern over the last few Friday Favourites but I’m in love with the dark eyes/nude lips look!

Aaaand last but not least… I wish my gorgeous friend Lauren a very, very Happy Birthday.

Oh bless you darling gorgeous girl – thanks so much for my special mention, you’ve made my Friday! I can’t stop listening to the ‘Vicky Cristina Barcelona’ soundtrack, lovin’ me some spanish guitar. I’m dreaming of Kastellorizo, Greece where I’ll be heading in a few weeks. I can’t wait to swim in the crystal blue sea, indulge in moussaka, dolmades and lots of other yummy treats and enjoy a delicious breakfast at my favourite ‘Radio’ cafe. I’m also loving Winter and really enjoyed writing my post this week….. and as for chocolate, I just can’t get enough of Whittakers coconut slab….. Mmmm-Mmmmmm! Happy Friday lovely. Amy xxxx
