Blogster Awards and some of the best food blogs in Australia

Friday night I attended the 2012 Ultrabook Pedestrian.tv Blogster Awards as part of Sydney’s Vivid Ideas Program at the Vivid Ideas Exchange.

Packed into one very schmick looking room were some of Australia’s best bloggers (and beards), waiting in anticipation for the winners of the category awards to be announced. But seriously, beards are in! I think Beau was the only bare-faced man in the room apart from the John Lennon look-a-like.

The Awards was hosted by media experts Melissa Hoyer, Brendan Maclean and Kirk Docker who provided some entertaining commentary throughout the night.

Brilliant night!

From this competition I have come across some absolutely cracking food blogs and I just had to share them with you. These blogs will have you doing at least one of the following: salivating / licking the screen / laughing / in awe of the photos / planning your next meal / planning your next trip / hungry

Stove Top Revolution – originally started as a place to record Sophie’s recipes that she ‘kept losing within a giant folder’, now you’ll find stories, memories, recipes, tips, interviews, photography and travel notes.

Cook Suck – is one of my new favourite blogs! Cook Suck is the Internet food police, reviewing some of the pretty shitty home-cooked meals people dish up and post about.

One Bite More – One Bite More is essentially ‘a big ol’ scrapbook of recipes, restaurant recommendations and product reviews – all related to food’ and compiled by the lovely Shez.

Grab Your Fork – follow Helen’s gastronomic journey around Sydney and abroad and check out her amazing photos.

Chocolatesuze – Chocolatesuze run by Suze is about her food adventures including filling a bathtub with ice cream, her candy wedding and a 2kg ramen challenge. A great food blog with excellent photos and ideas.
