Happy Friday Folks!
You may have noticed I’ve been a little quiet this week, well that’s because I’m having a little blogging break. Unfortunately I’m not lying in a hammock on a beach somewhere exotic, I’m sitting on my couch with sixteen layers on and still freezing my toosh off. Anyway, after a week of rest I’m feeling refreshed, raring to go and bubbling with ideas for Lipstick & Cake. Stay tuned for some exciting posts coming up over the next few weeks.
Enjoy this week’s Friday Favourites (in no particular order).
Mail -I love getting mail! Postcards, letters and packages get me very excited and although emails are convenient, I still hope that people continue to send some mail via the post and not electronically.
Winter breakfast -It’s bloody cold at the moment and the best way to warm up is with a bowl of warm porridge, as my friend Kimberly says ‘porridge sticks to the ribs’! For the last few weeks I’ve been enjoying Be Natural’s Vanilla Almond Porridge. Just add milk, zap in the microwave for 30 seconds and then enjoy (optional: sprinkle with brown sugar).
Winter looks – Loving Olivia Palermo’s winter makeup look, gorgeous brown eye makeup and a rose-pink lip. Does your makeup change with the seasons?
Hilary’s hair – Hilary Duff sported a very cute looking pony (and baby) out in LA this week. I love a good pony! Just wish my hair was as thick as Hil’s.
Nice bra’s -I love bra’s, especially gorgeous lacy looking ones. I think I have a drawer of about 30 bra’s but really only regularly wear about 7. My favourite under-the-shoulder-bolder-holder shops are Victoria’s Secret, Cotton on Body, La Senza and Bra’s n Things. What’s your favourite underwear brand?
Morning routine – After reluctantly dragging myself out of my toasty warm bed I hop across the freeeeeezing floor tiles (warning: if building your house pay the extra coin and get heated tiles) and get myself a mug of hot water with lemon juice. Hot water with freshly squeezed lemon juice is meant to be amazing for your health, cleansing your system of impurities and aiding in digestion.
Curl curl curl – Shu Uemura eyelash curlers are a beauty icon and are used by makeup artists and celebrities around the world. I have the straightest eyelashes in the world and can’t live without my trusty Shu Uemura curlers.
Because I’m a girl and have to have the latest and greatest… I am busting to try the new Shu Uemura 24Karat coated curler which is being released in two weeks time. Coated in luxurious 24Karat gold with soft, elastic rubber, this collectible gem delivers beautiful curls without adding stress to the lashes. Lashes are evenly curled, bringing out a more beautiful, more sophisticated look to your eyes. Available from July 2nd at David Jones http://www.shuuemura.com/
Making new friends – Who doesn’t like making new friends?!
Pastel punks – Sometimes I wish I could quit my day job and work at accessories mecca Lovisa, however this would probably be a dangerous mood because my entire pay would be spent feeding my accessories addiction. Lovisa’s new range Pastel Punk is hot! My two favourite pieces from the range are the Level triangle shape statement Ring (Rose, lemon, mint, green and polished gold zig zag print ring) $12.99 AU / $14.99 NZ. Skull statement Necklace (Rose, lemon, mint and gold skull with gold chain) $16.99 AU / $19.99 NZ. These pieces are a great way to brighten up your winter wardrobe.
Check out the complete Pastel Punk range here.
Eye sore – JOE MANGANIELLO. WOW. I can’t wait to see the new movie Magic Mike starring Joe, Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, Matt Bomer and Matthew McConaughey. Does that sound like a drool fest or what!?!
If you could have a one week break what would you do?
