Gordon Rugby Ladies Day

July 9, 2012

One Saturday each year the Gordon Rugby Club in Sydney hosts Ladies Day, an annual tradition were the women of rugby (wives, mothers, sisters, daughters and friends) are celebrated and thanked for their contribution to the club and rugby community.  I love the Gordon Rugby Club.  My husband has played there for many years and through the club we have gained many life-long friends and I was more than happy to play ‘organiser’ this year (a move I regretted for just a minute at 2am the night before whilst icing cupcakes).

The planning took over my life for at least a month, hence the lack of posts lately, but Ladies Day has finally happened and it was a success.

The weather on Saturday was phenomenal and we had an absolute cracker of a day eating, drinking and partying! I thought that I’d share the day with you. Maybe you’re looking for party recipe inspiration, or idea’s for decorations or maybe you’d just like a squizz. Enjoy the pics.

When I was growing up I had a friend whose father was the Club Secretary. Every Saturday he’d take us to Gordon Rugby where we’d watch every game from the 4ths to the 1sts. I loved it. I’d be given a pie and a sausage roll and then a couple of bucks to spend on lollies. Fabulous fun! Oh, and then there was the rugby of course. xx
