Friday Favourites with a British twist

Happy Happy Happy Friday!

Only one more sleep until the London 2012 Olympic Games begin woohoo! I’m feeling very nostalgic about England and my time there which I’m sure is clear from my British-inspired posts.

I love travelling and have been lucky enough to have travelled to many places over the years. I like to bring at least one ‘thing’ home from my travels to display in our house (like a painting of Paris), use (cute chopsticks from Japan) or wear (my well-worn Oxford Uni jumper). We’ve been looking to add a little Britannia into our house for a while now. On a recent trip to Oxford we found the Fred and Mollie Union Jack patterned Dog Doorstop that I fell in love with. Unfortunately my luggage was already 5 kg over the limit and little Arthur (I had already named him) wasn’t going to be taking the long trip down under with us.

Whilst in my warm fuzzy cloud of nostalgia I began searching for Arthur online and ended up building quite a shopping list filled with very cute English-inspired homewares. It would be rude not to share my little finds with you, so here they are in my Friday Favourites.

Celebrating in luxury – I will be spending my Birthday weekend at the very swish Marriott Sydney. I can’t wait to get there and totally pamper myself whilst taking in the incredible view of Sydney Harbour. I was born and raised in Sydney and caught the ferry to school everyday, but I still find our city breathtaking.

Lucky girl – My gorgeous friend Kimberley, who makes me laugh more than anyone else, spoilt me for my birthday with Chanel baby!

Favourite bakery in London - The Hummingbird Bakery. You’ve heard it before, you’ll hear it again, I absolutely love the Hummingbird Bakery and was so excited to visit a few months ago. I stuffed my face with the most amazing cupcakes, whoopee pies and slices. Read about it here.

Marion’s Kitchen – Remember Marion Grasby from Masterchef? Well she has her own range of Asian food kits and they are delicious. I was lucky enough to be sent the range to try out (I love my job) and will be posting about it soon. So far the San Choy Bow is my favourite.
