Roundup: Favourite Candles

Anyone who has been to my house will tell you that I am clearly a candle hoarder. You’ll find them in my bedroom, my study, the bathroom, the living room, the dining room and even the kitchen. Every room in the house contains at least one candle at anytime.
I love the ambience a lit candle creates, I love the ooze of calmness that goes through me when I’m sitting in a room lit by candlelight, and I love how a certain fragrances can take me back to a time, moment or a place.
A few weeks ago all my candles seemed to run out at the same time which meant that a big candle shop was in order! I don’t know about you, but I find candle shopping exciting but at the same time a little overwhelming as there are so many choices out there. Naturally I went to Twitter to ask your opinion on which brand and fragrance I should pick and being the good blogger that I am (or think I am) I obviously had to try out the top 6 most popular candles for myself before I could write about them.
See our picks below. These candles not only smell delicious but they look great, presented in beautiful jars that you can reuse after you’ve finished the candle (great holder for jewellery/accessories or a cute little vase).

I LOVE candles! I burn one every morning and evening to make my home smell yummy and to wind down in the evening. I love all your picks, I’ve been a Glasshouse fan for years and I can’t wait for ‘Coney Island’ to come out.. I’m hoping it smells like fairy floss :) I’m currently burning Palm Beach Sweet Peach but my favourite candle is Aquiesse Pink Peony, that is heaven. Brilliant post lovely.

I’m a Glasshouse fan all the way! I have been through so many. My fav is the big caramel/vanilla one which even when it’s not burning spreads a subtle but yummy scent throughout my living room.

Like Amy above I would LOVE it if a fairy floss scent came out for Coney Island – too cool!

I can’t wait to smell the new Glasshouse range! If it doesn’t smell like fairy floss then maybe you two should get together and invent it :-) I’d be your first customer. xx
