Friday Favourites

Happy Friday!

I hope your week has been as brilliant as mine and I hope your weekend is filled with fun, friends, plenty of sleep and great food!

What have you got planned for the weekend?

Enjoy this weeks Friday Favourites and read below for my exciting news!

Have a break – Have a delicious Kit Kat! It has been a while since I last had one but after someone started talking about them last week I became obsessed and craved one until I could get one in my mouth. What have you been craving lately?

Super Styling – Jessica Alba is gorgeous and I love her chic, effortless style!

Thanking you – since attending ProBlogger Event last week I’ve been filled with inspiration and love for my blog and the blogging world. On Monday I wrote a post about going back to basics, sharing with you my blogging adventure to date and what’s on the horizon.

Neck bling – I can’t see my neon obsession dying out anytime soon! The latest item added to my very colourful accessory collection is this cute necklace from Sportsgirl. I can’t find it on the site but it should still be in stores.

Look for sparks – my brain and thoughts are exploding with ‘sparks’. These sparks are ideas or zaps of energy and are filling my every waking moment. You should see the 5-page list of ideas I’ve come up with since the weekend… hopefully you’ll see these ideas come to life on Lipstick & Cake.

Protecting my hands – Unfortunately I suffer from eczema on my hands which seems to flare up when I’m stressed. Eczema hurts and doesn’t look pretty and the key to beating it, (no-stress life isn’t an option) is keeping my hands moisturised. When I do have a flare up there are actually very few products I can use that don’t hurt or make the eczema worse. One of the products I can use and really works is Aveeno Intense Relief Hand Cream which contains natural oatmeal and rich emollients to repair dry skin and keeps your hands moisturised without feeling greasy!

Never without – My Swisspers face wipes. I can’t get to sleep without taking my makeup off at night (unless I’ve had a few too many wines) and the most effective way to do that is using my favourites wipes, Swisspers. They are also perfect to take on long flights to use to freshen up! What do you use to take your makeup off at night?

Very, very exciting news – today Cosmo Mag relaunched their website and it is fabulous! If you look closely you might see a familiar face…. Mine! I am very excited to announce that I have been asked to be a part of The Cosmo Collective. Each week 6 other bloggers (including Jess from Wellness Warrior, Kate from The Kitchen Inc., Michaela from Lather Rinse Repeat, Dajana from Le Flassh, Claudia from Peep My Style and the girls from The Edit) and I will be posting over at Cosmo covering topics like food, beauty, fashion, home styling and lifestyle. Come and check out this weeks post and take a look around the spanking-new site! Huge thanks to the gorgeous girls at Cosmo (especially Kate) for inviting me to be a part of the collective. x

Rainbows from my pen pal – I have a gorgeous little friend named Astrid who has become my pen pal. She is a really special little girl and a letter from her absolutely makes my day!

Foxy flats – I can’t stop wearing my new flats from Zara! I should have bought them in blue too.

Food bible – Donna Hay’s latest edition is amazing! I’m working my way through the magazine and have enjoyed it so much that I have shared two recipes on the blog this week; Parsley and quinoa tabbouleh with smoky eggplant dip and five-spice and chilli chicken noodles. Both are easy to make and even easier to eat!

Banging bod – how amazing is Mel B’s body? I love Mel B! She’s hot, funny, down-to-earth and tells it how it is, what’s not to like about her? Mel’s body is cracking and is inspiring me to actually get off the couch and do some exercise.

Hair Romance – I have not had much love for my hair over the years. It’s not that I don’t like my hair, I’m a leo so my mane is very important to me, it’s just I’ve really struggled to learn how to do my hair properly. Well, that was until I met Christina from Hair Romance and fell in love her site. ‘Hair Romance shares tutorials, tips, tricks and beauty advice’ for anyone with hair (well mainly women), from the hair novice to the hair extraordinaire. Hair Romance’s second e-book 30 Braids in 30 Days in now available. I bought myself a copy and am working my way through it.

Tasty tapas – I love tapas and thoroughly enjoyed the food last night at Li’l Darlin Surry Hills. Definitely worth a visit even if it’s just to try the chocolate brownie swirls!

Heaven – Slippers, gown, bed, tv and hot chocolate – my ideal night! Thanks to the Marriott Hotel Melbourne for making super comfortable beds and delicious hot chocolates. Stay tuned for my Girls Trip to Melbourne post next week.

I am learn-ed! – after ProBlogger and want to share the knowledge! Check out my PBEvent Round-up (part 1) here… or buy a virtual pass to the event which gives you access to all the recordings and presentations from the two-day event, which is hours or information from some of Australia’s best bloggers and business brains!
