Happy Friday my lovely readers!
I hope your week has been fab and I wish you a brilliant weekend!
Here are my ‘favourites’ from the week:
Can you teach me how to Mojito? My all-time favourite cocktail is the Mojito and this week my friend Rowan taught me how to make one. Check it out here.
A super Super Bowl day – This week I had a few friends over to watch the Super Bowl. It was a brilliant day with plenty of food, drinks, laughs and more food. Check out my day and what we ate here.
Love – a coffee table arrangement particularly one with books, flowers and candles.
An inspiring story – For years I have seen a man in a wheelchair selling The Big Issue at my local shopping centre. I have always been intrigued by him and often buy an issue of him or at least give him a smile. This week I was reading the North Shore Times when I came across this man’s story. His name is Howard and he has cerebral palsy. Whilst his movement is quite limited, Howard gets out there and sells The Big Issue for 11 days straight before having 3 days off and has done this for the last 13 years. I have so much respect and admiration for Howard and will think of him every time I think I’m too tired to do something. Be sure to say hi to Howard if you see him at Chatswood Westfield.
Girl crush – I have a HUGE girl crush on Miranda Kerr (who doesn’t). She looked incredible this week at the David Jones event. Who’s your current girl crush?
Latest Amazon buys – I can’t wait to get home so I can get stuck into my new Amazon buys – Lauren Conrad’s Beauty book, Dianne Jacob’s Will Write For Food and Tracy Anderson’s mat workout dvd. What book are you reading at the moment? Have you ever bought an exercise dvd?
Best leg-tanner EVER – Sally Hansen’s Airbrush Legs is the best tanning product for your pins. Whenever I wear a short dress, skirt or a pair of shorts I spray my legs with this, not only to give them some much-needed colour but to also hide veins, bruises and imperfections. It goes on in seconds, doesn’t streak and can even be used on other parts of your body. Stay tuned for a special tanning product post coming shortly.
Would you like some Caramel-Banana-Pecan Bread Casserole? – you know you want to! Here, have some.
Favourite outfit of the week – this is one of my favourite outfits. Leather skirt with white shirt and my pink Zara blazer and black lace up ankle boots.
Photo a day – I’m currently attempting three photo challenges – Fat Mum Slim’s Photo a Day challenge (Insta tag: #FMSphotoaday), Fox In Flat’s FABruary style challenge (insta tag: #FABruary) and beauty guru’s Rosemary Slade and Pop Couturist’s BeautyShakeUp (insta tag #BeautyShakeUp). So far I’m doing okay. Have you ever participated in a photo challenge?
Share your story – Bio–oil have just launched a great social media campaign called Skin Stories. The team at Bio-oil would love for you to share your bio-oil story and in return they will donate $5 to charity. A skin story could be stretch marks from growing or childbirth, a knock or fall, a cut from cooking or some kind of activity. Celebrities and beauty bloggers have jumped on board and share their bio-oil stories here and here.
Do you want to share your Bio-oil story? Head to the Bio-oil Facebook app here to share.
They’re back – Hands up if you love Destiny’s Child. I have both my hands in the air.
Melting my heart – Cuddles or peek-a-boo?
You haven’t lived until you’ve tried – Sweet potato fries with aioli. I became obsessed with this dish when I was away on holidays in Canada and have already made them three times since my return. Here is my recipe.
Oh just dinner and a movie, no biggie – Looks terrible huh? Every year my mum, a friend and I go catch a flick at the best cinema in the world, the St George Open Air Cinema at Mrs Macquarie’s Chair, Sydney. It is always a great night and a must-do!

I love a great coffee table arrangement too Steph, yours is so pretty. What a great story about Howard, I often wonder about Big Issue seller’s stories – and I love how they feature a seller in each issue, so you can get a sense of who they are and what they’ve overcome. Love love LOVE your look of the week – leather skirt, hello!! And Bio Oil is THE BEST, I used it religiously when I was pregnant with my daughter and I don’t have one stretch mark. Great Friday Favourites as always lovely! A x x
