Bad-Boyish Bob from Toni & Guy
TONI&GUY Hair Meet Wardrobe were the styling force behind the hair at Maarten van der Horst’s show at Fashion Week. Supporting van der Horst’s Andy Warhol’s Factory-inspired collection, the team at Hair Meet Wardrobe created a boyish bob look, clashing 70’s Punk, 80’s Disco and contemporary street style. I loved the look and wanted to share Hair Meet Wardrobe’s tips on recreating it.
‘I wanted to create something that was cool, casual and undone, to reflect the casual sports style street wear of Maarten’s collection. The character for the season is quite boyish so we created the illusion of a shorter cut, and pulled out sections to create the undone, roughed up look.’ Mark Hampton, Global Hair Ambassador for TONI&GUY Hair Meet Wardrobe.

PREP // Prep the hair with TONI&GUY Hair Meet Wardrobe Prep volume Plumping Mousse and dry this in with the TONI&GUY Hair Meet Wardrobe Touch Control Dryer. Then, add a second application of mousse and dry in again to achieve a really matte finish on the hair.
STYLE // First, backcomb sections of hair to add a bit of volume and spray all over with TONI&GUY Hair Meet Wardrobe Casual rough Texturiser* for a dishevelled look.
Pull all of the hair over to one side but without a visible or severe parting. Take a section of the hair just at the nape of the neck and braid upwards. This will create a base for the hair to be pinned to later.
Next, tie the hair with a clear elastic right at the end and roll the hair under itself to create the illusion of a shorter length.
Pull sections of the hair from the style and spray with a little more of the Casual rough Texturiser* to define.
Finish all over with TONI&GUY Hair Meet Wardrobe Casual Flexible Hold Hair Spray for light hold and matte finish.
*note: You can substitute TONI&GUY hair Meet wardrobe Casual Rough Texturiser with TONI&GUY hair Meet wardrobe Casual sea salt spray.
