An update on life, love and my e-cookbook!
Christmas is just around the corner. Can you believe it? I don’t feel like I’m ready for Christmas, but I am so ready for 2015.
It’s no secret that the last 18 months have been incredibly tough for me. My separation and divorce has been traumatic and life-changing, but thankfully that chapter is (almost) done and my new life has begun. Whilst it was devastating and sad to see the end of a 9-year relationship, I know that ending the marriage was the best move for both of us.
And when one chapter ends, another begins…
If not for the breakdown of my marriage I would never have taken Lipstick & Cake further. I wouldn’t have left my job to blog full-time and I certainly wouldn’t have developed a cookbook. But, here I am doing both and so in love with my job. I hope I can continue to do them everyday for the rest of my life.
I’ve also been lucky enough to travel quite a bit in the last year, mainly to the US. I’m crazy about America, always have been and always will. I feel very comfortable there and love discovering new places, people and foods (particularly the foods). I’m already planning my next trip which will include plenty of exploring, sightseeing and eating.
The US is also home to a very special person in my life… yep that’s right, I’ve started dating someone. He’s caring and kind and makes me laugh all the time (very important, I love to laugh). He’s coming out to Australia next week and I can’t wait to show him around my beautiful city and country.
Now you may have noticed that it’s been a little quiet over here at Lipstick & Cake and that’s because I’ve been madly cooking, writing and editing away on my first e-cookbook. My e-cookbook is 30 delicious (and many indulgent) breakfast recipes that can be made by ANYONE – even the kitchen novice. Cooking should be fun and enjoyable, not complicated.
Anyhoo, the cookbook is currently being put together and I will be sure to let you know once it’s live.
I have a ton of content to share with you over the next few weeks… lots of summer and Christmas ‘stuff’. Stay tuned and be sure to let me know if there’s anything in particular you’d like to see on Lipstick & Cake.
